About the Course
A mixture of sessions creating charcoal studies, followed by exploring techniques, colour, underpainting and developing a wet-in-wet oil painting with brush work with demonstrations every step of the way.
What to prepare before the course begins
Before the beginning of the Still Life course you will need to prepare GROUNDS (click for video demo) on the canvas for the main painting and other surfaces such as canvas pad paper for practicing your colour mixing for exploring the Limited Colour Palette.
For the ground you will need to use earth oil colours, Burnt Sienna or Raw Umber mixed with Walnut Alkyd Oil Medium which will help with the drying time. The aim is to achieve several earth-toned grounds on canvas surfaces in preparation for the weeks ahead.
Also Click here for the full materials list on the general Drawing and Painting with Oils course information page.
