About this course
The course explores acrylic painting in combination with wet and dry media. Some experience with art making is recommended however, step-by-step demonstrations are provided throughout for all abilities to follow. The course covers both representational and expressive abstract art making. It will cover practices combining; acrylic, charcoal, acrylic mediums, gesso, pen and inks and/or conte/pastels. Tuition will include discussion based on six core principles: the perception of edges, spaces, relationships, light and dark, expression, and the 'Whole'. Instruction will be given throughout the year (Term 1-3) on perspective, portrait and figures, expressive and representational art-making. Exploring various themes from the animal world, nature, landscape, seascapes, people, and buildings. The course will begin with Acrylic Techniques, Collage with Heavy Gesso. As the course progresses additional media will be introduced so art materials can be built up over time. You will be sent regular information via email for the media and theme, with advice on where to purchase additional materials prior to each project. Projects will begin with drawing practice and exploring techniques to prepare you for the art making. Followed by full demonstrations for each stage making the artwork. Projects are spread over 1-3 weeks to give you plenty of time to complete each artwork |

Jacksons Art-
Links prodived for the art materials are my recommendations for their good value, quantity and/or quality ~ For example I will purchase an A2 Acrylic pad with 20 sheets because it better value than 12 A4 sheets. I cut down the sheets to A4 as required. However, I will purchase a good quality, Winsor and Newton White Gouache due to the higher pigment content for better opacity when highlighting on top of a watercolour painting.
Visit my YouTube channel to see the art in progress. Many quick hyperlasped paintings in a variety of mediums that I use to accompany the tuition for art courses and classes.
