Honey Bee and Crocuses Watercolour painting
Honey Bee and Crocuses Watercolour painting. As the first crocuses bloomed in my garden this early spring 2021, a little honey bee came to visit, I was so pleased to see her, she cheered my heart. I just had to make a loose watercolour to celebrate both of their arrivals.

Equipment you'll need
My recommendations are based of the materials I regulary purchase has an art tutor. These materials are good value for any practicing artist without losing quality.
HB Pencil and Putty Rubber
Paints -
I like use Reeves Watercolours 24 x 10ml because they are good selection of colours and are economical, as an art tutor I do get through a lot of paint! However, for better quality, with a high pigment content I go for Winsor and Newton -
Colours -
Crimson, Cobalt Blue, Cadmium Yellow, Lemon Yellow, Viridian, Burnt Sienna and Prussian.
Brushes -
Round No. 2, No. 6, and I flat filbert No. 20. Also a small brush for applying the Masking Fluid. To which I first covered the bristles with a small amount of fairy liquid before dipping in the masking fluid, which protected the bristles. A set I use often which is very good value is by Royal & Langnickle.
Paper -
For Watercolour Paper, I go through a lot of Daler Rowney Aquafine WC Texture Pad 300gsm A4 this pad comes with 50 sheets which is why I use it. It's not the best quality in the world but it does provide enough tooth and strength to make fine watercolours for display and for my demostrations.
