Drawing and Painting with Watercolours
Course Overview
The course is suitable for some experince of all levels of ability. Gradual and complete instructions are provided every step of the way for each project.
The course will cover practices in drawing and painting with watercolour.
You will be sent regular information via email, prior to each project.
Each project will begin with a drawing and exploring techniques session to prepare you for creating the artwork theme for the project. Projects may run for 1-2 weeks or more.

Art Materials

- Hairdryer / Heat tool
- Sketch pad
- HB pencil
- Pencil sharpener
- Faber Castell Putty Rubber in a case
- A set of Watercolours pans or tubes i.e: Good Value Medium Quality Watercolout Tubes (see recommendations below) or for a better quality Jackson's Art Winsor & Newton.
- Beginners Set- Small, medium and large, round, flat and a Fan Brush for watercolours (see product recommendations below)
- Palettes for Watercolour
- 2 jars, kitchen towel and masking tape
- Lightweight Drawing Board
- Jackson's Art White Gouache
- White Wax Crayon or White Candle stick
- Jackson's Art Masking Fluid
- Watercolour pad 300 gsm
- Pen's for line work only - from Jackson's Art Faber Castell : Pitt Artists Brush Pen : Set of 8 : Assorted Black Nibs (Personally I prefer a dip pen and ink, as I can do both line and brush work with these, where as I can only create line work with the pens which is great for these studies Hares and the The Bothy Cottage)
- Waterproof set of Pen and Ink or Dip Pen and Ink, I use Talens Indian Ink, see links below.
- Non-Waterproof Parker Quink Ink (The non-waterproof ink is good for when working washes and with bleach, for example see the Cheetah Page)

Basic Watercolours - Cadmium Red, Alizarine Crimson, Lemon Yellow, Cadmium Yellow, Sap Green, Viridian Green, Burnt Sienna, French Ultramarine, Cobalt Blue, Cerulean Blue,
Additional Colours – Permanent Rose, Opera pink, Violet, ….the list is extensive so it’s nice to pick a few random extras of your choosing as time goes on to add to your collection.
